I spent 13 years in Corporate America working in traveling sales roles. I learned to create a work life that also made sense as a wife and mother until the tug at my heart to follow purpose led me to co-founding HERself Podcast with Amy. I have three children and am an honest believer that we can all be in working roles that make us feel fulfilled when we hit the pillow at night. I also LOVE growth and know that failure and finding out what works for YOU and your values and your lifestyle are keys to business success. I’ve personally created 4 online courses and have simplified all the tech for you to make launching your online course seamless.

I’m the cofounder of Expecting and Empowered and HERself podcast and a multipassionate mother of 3. Since college I've worked as a personal trainer, nursing assistant, nurse, and now a full-time entrepreneur. I’m the queen of not feeling stuck - in pursuing the things that make YOU feel alive. How do online courses actually make money?
Great question! Most online course businesses generate 70% profit margins (for comparison, the average restaurant operates at 3-5%), so courses are LOW overhead and BIG margins. The best thing about online courses is that it takes the same time to build a course if you sell 2 of them OR if you sell 2,000! With an online course, you can essentially sell the program again and again with zero additional work on your end.
Do I need to invest in a ton of other programs to get this up and running?
We know what it’s like to just be starting an online course and have hidden expenses where you weren’t expecting them. Inside Purposeful Course, we make our best recommendations for software and tech that are LOW cost and are still quality. You can expect to spend an additional $100 on equipment and a few monthly subscriptions (and remember this equipment can be used again and again for future online courses and other pieces of your online business). This is why it’s our goal that you start making money with your online course and not allow it to collect dust.
How long will it actually take me to build my online course?
This really depends on which kind of course model you select! Inside Purposeful Course, we share three different models based on how comprehensive the program will be and that determines how much time will need to be invested in the creation of the program.
You’ll be able to start building your course within a few weeks, and have the course ready in a few months.
Do I need to be tech savvy?
No! We joke that Abby is the least tech savvy person, and she’s truly become a master at all things online course tech. In fact, she simplifies everything to ensure that you feel confident and supported.
I am a beginner and don't have an audience. Is this for me?
Inside Purposeful Course, we teach how to utilize free marketing channels in order to grow your audience to launch your online course. It’s very important to know that just because someone has an audience doesn’t mean it’s the RIGHT audience. You’ll be more successful with 100 of the right people VS 20,000 people who aren’t interested in your niche. In fact, we hit over 6-figures in online course sales with a small Instagram following and under 1000 people on our email list.
What if I don’t feel like an expert in anything?
We see WAY too many brilliant women downplay what they can bring to the table – and we don’t want this for you! We think of being an expert in two ways: 1) you have life experience with a topic or have walked that journey, or 2) you have a formal education or training in a topic. BOTH are incredibly valuable. You don’t need to have a PhD in a topic to make a huge difference in someone’s life (you could simply be 10 steps ahead of where your ideal customer is). You got this!
Do I need to run Facebook Ads in order to hit 6-figures?
Nope! We know that 6-figures can be an illusive number for a lot of people, but we were able to generate this revenue in our first year of online course sales WITHOUT any paid ads. Inside Purposeful Course, we teach free marketing channels to help you grow your audience and online course sales.
Are there coaching calls?
Inside the program we have THREE live coaching calls with Abby, Amy + Kat.
